Job Description
Responsible for day-to-day supervision and operation of an assigned area of the Laboratory, making decisions that may affect the department and financial and performance objectives and strategic results. Provides input to manager on budget for area and immediately supervises employees in assigned area, including responsibility for performance reviews, hiring, disciplinary actions, and terminations. Must be able to exercise considerable judgment in the application, evaluation, and implementation of new or revised procedures, techniques or practices to solve problems.
Scope
The role requires oversight and continuous improvement of laboratory operations, supervision of staff, and implementation of new or revised procedures, techniques or practices.

Experience Requirements
Current Clinical Laboratory Scientist – Generalist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist – Technician license issued by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners. Previous supervisory experience required.
