Shop Service Technician III - CAT Rentals

Primary Job Role

Conduct all assigned work safely, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental, and contamination control policies, procedures, and regulations. Wear proper personal protective equipment.

Maintain a minimum set of tools required for job performance to diagnose, disassemble and assemble components to manufacturer’s specifications.

Attend and successfully complete required technician training classes.

Diagnose and perform designated repairs on customer or company‑owned equipment, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs.

Work in the assigned area in a neat and orderly fashion, constantly seeking ways to improve methods, work area, and safety standards.

Research repair needs and order parts as needed.

Complete required documentation utilizing appropriate software to document repairs performed on equipment and accounting for repair times.

Approach work positively and maintain conduct supportive of the work team; contribute to team efforts by accomplishing tasks on time while maintaining safety and quality expectations.

Assist with maintaining proper facility appearance and shop conditions by following contamination control guidelines, housekeeping, and performing other general maintenance duties.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

High School diploma or GED.

1‑2 years experience.

Completed all required training curriculum to be designated a Tech III.

Ability to comprehend written material and communicate orally and in writing with employees and customers.

Not Required But Highly Desired Criteria

Proficient in the use of a computer, Microsoft Office products, and relevant dealer software programs.

Updating of Knowledge

Job requirements frequently change requiring re‑training once or more per year.
