Field Service Technician I - Power System

Primary Job Role

Conduct all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental and contamination control policies, procedures and regulations; wear proper personal protective equipment.
Attend and successfully complete required technician training classes.
Maintain the necessary set of tools required for job performance to diagnose, disassemble and assemble components to manufacturer’s specifications.
Diagnose and perform designated repairs on customer or company-owned equipment, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs.
Work in a neat and orderly fashion, constantly looking for ways to improve methods of work, work area and safety standards.
Inspect components to ensure maximum parts are reused to control repair costs; complete required documentation using appropriate software to record repairs performed and account for repair times.
Monitor job expenses versus repair estimates and inform supervisor of any cost overruns before completion.
Approach work positively, maintain conduct supportive of the team, set a standard for others, contribute to team efforts by completing tasks on time while maintaining safety and quality expectations, train and/or mentor others, and assume supervisor’s position temporarily as necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

High School diploma or GED (Formal Education).
5‑6 years of relevant experience.
Valid Driver’s License.
Successfully completed all required training curriculum to be designated Service Field Tech I.
Ability to understand written material and communicate orally and in writing with employees and customers.
Not Required But Highly Desired Criteria

Proficiency in computer use, Microsoft Office products and relevant dealer software programs.
Updating of Knowledge
