Dental Receptionist/Business Assistant
Denham Springs Dental Care is looking for a Business Assistant to join our team.
Schedule
Monday/Thursday 8am‑4pm, Tuesday/Wednesday 8am‑5pm, Friday 8am‑1pm.
Responsibilities
Greet and welcome patients as they enter the office to create a great first impression.
Manage front‑office duties, including answering phones, checking mail and email, and communicating with patients and insurance companies.
Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping.
Schedule and confirm appointments for multiple providers in the office.
File patient insurance claims, verify benefits, and follow up on outstanding claims.
Process insurance and patient payments and manage accounts receivable.
Review treatment‑plan fees and payment options with patients.
Partner with providers and the team to implement Heartland Dental systems to optimize office potential.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience working in a fast‑paced, customer‑centric environment.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
1+ years of experience in a dental setting.
1+ years of experience with insurance billing and accounts receivable.
Experience with Dentrix or other dental software.
Must receive HIPAA training and protect PHI in accordance with applicable laws.
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Availability to attend virtual or in‑person training sessions periodically throughout the year.
Must complete a tuberculosis (TB) test as part of the pre‑employment process (except where not required by law).
