Dogwood Veterinary Specialty & Emergency is expanding to the Atlanta (Dunwoody) area in 2026. We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Radiology Technician to join our growing specialty team. This is a high-acuity, non-entry-level role focused on advanced diagnostic imaging, anesthesia, and precision patient care. You will work alongside board-certified radiologists and specialty clinicians, supporting complex cases through MRI, CT, and digital radiography. Radiology Technician Responsibilities
As a Veterinary Radiology Technician, you will play a critical role in advanced imaging workflows, anesthesia support, and diagnostic accuracy.
Diagnostic Imaging & Patient Care
Prepare and position patients for MRI, CT, and digital radiography (X-ray).
Ensure image quality, accuracy, and proper positioning.
Maintain patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures.
Collaborate with radiologists to support efficient case flow.
Anesthesia & Monitoring
Perform advanced anesthesia induction, intubation, and monitoring for imaging procedures.
Monitor patients using ECG, capnography, pulse oximetry, blood pressure, and temperature regulation.
Adjust anesthetic depth for short-duration and high-risk cases.
Recognize and respond to anesthetic complications.
Radiation Safety & Equipment Management
Follow strict radiation safety protocols and compliance standards.
Ensure proper use of PPE and shielding.
Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment.
Adhere to safety and regulatory guidelines.
Clinical Collaboration
Partner with ER and ICU teams for imaging support of critical patients.
Assist with stabilization prior to imaging when needed.
Participate in CPR/code response (RECOVER guidelines preferred).
Clinical Documentation
Maintain accurate imaging records and documentation.
Ensure proper case tracking and workflow coordination.
Support a clean, organized, and efficient imaging suite.
Follow hospital protocols and best practices.
Who We're Looking For
Required Experience
2+ years of experience in specialty, emergency, ICU, or high-acuity veterinary practice.
Strong background in anesthesia monitoring and patient care.
Experience with diagnostic imaging and positioning; advanced monitoring equipment; ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Liscensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) credentials (highly valued, not required).
Prior experience in MRI and/or CT imaging, specialty imaging departments, and radiation safety protocols.
RECOVER CPR certification and advanced training in anesthesia or ECC.
