Job Description
The Dental Assistant functions as a clinical support partner to assist the patient care team by performing various tasks in a surgical or clinic setting as instructed by a licensed professional.
Essential Functions
Gather and maintain equipment, instruments, and supplies for dental procedures.
Assist licensed professionals during dental procedures in clinic or surgical settings.
Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive environment for patient care.
Perform patient charting, documentation, and obtain x‑rays.
Sterilize instruments, handle medications, and manage specimens.

Shift Details
On‑Call/PRN, 0 guaranteed hours.
Minimum Qualifications
Utah Radiology Certification (if working in a dental clinic).
BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.
Basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Dental Assistant Program Completion.
Dental office or pediatric surgical experience.
Physical Requirements
Ongoing need to see, read, and assess patient information and equipment.
Frequent verbal communication with patients and providers, especially during emergencies.
Manual dexterity for manipulating delicate equipment and typing for documentation.
Expectations to lift, transfer, and move patients and equipment, including heavy items.
Ability to walk, transport, and ambulate patients and supplies while navigating busy environments.
May be required to stand for extended periods.
For driving roles: ability to drive a vehicle, requiring vision, hearing, and reading of signs.
Location
Primary Children's Outpatient Clinic, Salt Lake City, Utah.
Schedule and Pay
Scheduled weekly hours: 0. Hourly rate: $19.87 - $28.31, dependent upon experience.
