Overview
Eurofins Built Environment Testing is seeking a Laboratory Technician to temporarily join our Naperville site. This position is offered as a temporary position that will support laboratory processing of samples from May to December.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform routine microbiological laboratory procedures and analyses
Maintain, calibrate, clean and test the sterility of lab equipment
Isolate and culture bacteria or other microorganisms
Document all data and results in specified forms
Conduct microbial analyses of samples collected from various sources
Adhere to correct procedures, policies, and health/safety guidelines
Prepare specimens and samples for testing
Work in compliance with laboratory safety standards
Prepare detailed reports of laboratory results and findings
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
AS or BS degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related field
Proven work experience as a Microbiology Laboratory Technician or in a transferable laboratory setting
Hands-on experience with relevant equipment, procedures, and safety regulations
Knowledge of modern microbiological techniques
Experience in preparing cultures of bacteria and other microorganisms
Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Professional working proficiency in English (read, write, and speak)
Skills and Abilities:
Strong communication and written skills
Strong computer knowledge, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team; self-motivated, adaptable, and energetic
Ability to handle moderate stress in a fast-paced environment
Detail oriented
Additional Information
Work schedule: Monday – Friday, 10 AM – 7 PM, with overtime as needed
Location: Naperville, IL Laboratory Site; onsite attendance required
Starting pay range: $18.00/hr – $22.00/hr based on experience
