Service Technician Apprentice (Full-Time)
Team One Chevrolet Buick GMC Truck is looking to grow our service team with a dependable, hardworking Service Technician Apprentice. This is a great entry-level opportunity to kickstart your career in the automotive industry while learning from experienced professionals.

Position Overview
In this role, you’ll perform essential maintenance services, assist in diagnosing repairs, communicate with service advisors and mentors, and complete safety inspections—all under the guidance of a mentor technician.

What You’ll Do

Diagnose repairs efficiently and accurately

Inspect vehicles and report findings to management

Communicate with service advisors, mentors, and parts department

Perform maintenance and repair work as outlined on repair orders

Document all work performed and recommended services

Road test vehicles with mentor when required

Maintain cleanliness of customer vehicles and work area

Follow all dealership, manufacturer, and safety standards

Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs

Stay up to date with technical bulletins and procedures

Requirements

Valid Driver’s License

Some background in the field

Strong attention to detail and pride in your work

Positive attitude and team‑oriented mindset

Strong work ethic

Ability to communicate effectively

State of Michigan Trainee Permit (required)

Summary
The Apprentice Technician works under the supervision of the Production Unit Manager and a mentor technician. This role focuses on performing mechanical repairs and services for warranty, retail, and internal customers while developing technical skills through hands‑on training.

Essential Duties

Perform repairs according to dealership and manufacturer standards

Diagnose malfunctions and complete repairs

Communicate with the parts department to obtain necessary parts

Save and tag warranty or requested parts

Identify and report additional service or safety needs

Notify mentor or advisor of delays or changes in repair timelines

Maintain accurate repair documentation

Report equipment defects or malfunctions

Ensure vehicles remain clean and undamaged

Maintain organization and cleanliness of shop area

Properly use and maintain dealership tools and equipment

Follow all federal, state, and local safety regulations (OSHA, hazardous waste, etc.)

Operate all tools and equipment safely

Report safety concerns immediately

Education & Experience

No prior education or experience required but preferred
