ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class and are not all-inclusive for this position.
Responsibilities
Provide a variety of general, mechanic, and preventative maintenance duties, as well as inspections, servicing, repair, and overhaul of equipment for resort satellite buildings
Work independently, coordinating daily workflow in maintaining assigned building projects
Prioritize repair requests and plan work to ensure necessary parts are available and tasks are completed quickly and efficiently
Inspect drives, motors, and belts; check fluid levels; replace filters; and perform other maintenance actions following checklists
Plan and lay out repair work using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams
Perform routine preventive maintenance to keep machines running smoothly, building systems operating efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings from deteriorating
Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools and reassemble equipment
Maintain and repair specialized equipment and machinery found in kitchens, laundries, mechanical rooms, and offices
Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions
Diagnose mechanical problems and determine corrective actions, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary
Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools
Respond immediately to fire alarm systems; disengage electrical, water, or gas systems to protect occupants and property
Mentor Rooms Tech 1
Incumbents may perform any combination of essential duties as required or assigned by the Director of Engineering or designee, per Engineering Team duties; may include but is not limited to snow removal, MP2 System Preventive Maintenance Program, rotating shift, or other unrelated Engineering functions
Other job duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Minimum three years of general building maintenance experience or equivalent technical training
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and coworkers
Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends
Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered
Must be able to speak English
These skills and abilities are typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as through recreational experience.
