Hays is pleased to be partnering with a consulting business in their search for an Accountant. Working within a national head office, you will be joining the finance team in this newly created role, partnering closely with senior stakeholders and supporting a network-based business model. Communication and relationship management are key, as you will liaise regularly with internal teams and external business partners across Australia.
Your new role
End-to-end Accounts Receivable, including debtor management and follow-up
Investigating and reducing aged debt (60+ days) through proactive engagement
Client and account activation processes
Exposure to Accounts Payable and payroll support
Assisting with monthly reporting and reconciliations
Supporting process improvement projects within finance
Building strong working relationships across a diverse stakeholder group
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will be currently studying towards CPA/CA or planning to soon with proven experience in Accounts Receivable and able to lead a project to streamline AR and debtors. Sound understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and strong written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable working in a small team with a hands‑on approach.
