Compensation: $150K - $300K+ All In with Bonus
This is a high-autonomy, high-performance role with direct impact on outcomes.
Core Responsibilities
1. Case Ownership & Strategy
Manage a full caseload of employment matters (FEHA, wage & hour, PAGA, retaliation, wrongful termination)
Develop and execute litigation strategy from filing through resolution
Evaluate liability, damages, and settlement value early and continuously
Move cases proactively toward mediation within where appropriate
2. Litigation Execution
Draft and respond to pleadings, discovery, and dispositive motions
Take and defend depositions (party, PMK, key witnesses)
Prepare cases for mediation, arbitration, and trial
Handle court appearances independently
3. Settlement & Resolution
Lead mediation strategy and negotiations
Prepare demand packages and damages analyses
Drive settlements aligned with firm valuation models
Identify opportunities to increase case value (penalties, fee exposure, leverage points)
4. Client Management
Maintain strong client communication and trust
Provide clear expectations on case value and timeline
Ensure high client satisfaction and responsiveness
5. Internal Leadership
Work closely with litigation support, paralegals, and intake
Mentor junior attorneys where appropriate
Maintain strict compliance with firm deadlines and workflows
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in the State Bar of California (or applicable jurisdiction).
5+ years of experience in employment law, with a focus on plaintiff-side work preferred, but will consider new bar admittees.
Strong understanding of California labor and employment laws, including FEHA, CFRA, FLSA, and PAGA.
Excellent legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently.
Strong negotiation skills and a commitment to client advocacy.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with clients and opposing parties.
Compensation
Base Salary -$135,000 + Bonuses (up to $400,000)
