for Equipment and Accessories at our client, an American athletic footwear and apparel corporation, in Beaverton, Oregon. This is a short-term contract through 8/31/2026 and onsite 4 days per week.

The

Merchandising Buyer II

for Equipment & Accessories at the Factory Stores is a consumer‑focused role responsible for translating strategic intent into actionable in‑season assortments. Based in Beaverton, the merchant will utilize historical data, analytics, and senior leadership feedback to drive business trends and manage key programs related to pricing and inventory. Working closely with Planning, Allocation, and Operations, the individual will manage a healthy, brand‑enhancing portfolio while moving at the fast pace of retail to serve the consumer effectively.

Responsibilities

Action against strategic priorities and in‑season business needs to serve an end‑in‑mind retail for the Factory Store business.

Use historical data, analytics and Lead/Senior Merchants direction and feedback to action against future and current business trends.

Work in key programs as the expert on pricing, inventory management, promotion and tactical action.

Own translating strategic intent into action against future and current in‑season assortments.

Understand related aspects of the business and marketplace in making your plans, including coordinating between genders, brands and how individual products or collections impact each other.

Collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure actions taken are driving consumer demand and in alignment with the over‑arching strategy.

Become an expert within multiple systems as a critical action point to management of a healthy, brand enhancing, revenue‑driving portfolio.

Participate in seasonal assortment and buy reviews each quarter, as well as in‑season trading to influence actions and optimize growth with your partners.

Top 3 Qualifications

2+ years of experience in retail buying/merchandising with a focus on data analysis.

Proficiency in retail math (sell‑through, turn, ASP, UPT, stock to sales, KPIs).

Experience managing large data sets and advanced Excel skills.

Additional Qualifications

Possess proven retail competence and analytical abilities, understand retail environment, and bring a consumer‑centric perspective to the team and business.

Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education, experience and training.

2+ years’ experience in footwear or apparel buying and/or merchandising, product creation and/or retail in a vertical, multi‑brand or digital environment.

Strong affinity for current market trends and how apparel can continue to be a style leader in the marketplace.

Footwear, Apparel, Equipment or relevant consumer product buying and/or merchandising experience.

Understanding of common retail and/or digital profit‑based metrics such as sell‑through, turn, ASP, UPT and others.

Ability to contribute to and drive strategy into action.
