
Maintenance Tech Lead

The Maintenance Tech Lead is responsible for overseeing the maintenance team while performing advanced maintenance tasks, including inspections, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of machinery and equipment. This role ensures optimal equipment performance, leads daily maintenance activities, and supports continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Job Functions
Comply with all health and safety regulations and enforce compliance within the team.
Lead, supervise, and support maintenance technicians in daily operations.
Assign and prioritize work orders, preventative maintenance tasks, and repairs.
Perform advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and emergency repairs.
Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technical instructions.
Maintain schedules for inspecting, servicing, and testing machinery.
Ensure completion of work orders (PMs, modifications, installations) accurately and on time.
Train and mentor team members on maintenance procedures and safety practices.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Coordinate with other departments to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
Operate a variety of hand and power tools as needed.
Coordinate with and manage external vendors for maintenance services, repairs, and equipment support, ensuring quality work and timely completion.
Submit and review open tickets on CMMS, and assign to technicians accordingly.
Order maintenance parts from vendors as required.
Perform all other duties and/or projects as assigned by a supervisor or manager.

Education/Certification: High school diploma and/or certification are desirable.
5-7 years of industrial maintenance required if no education or certification.
5+ years of industrial maintenance required if education or certification.
Use hand tools and specialized tools (welding, precision, manual and semi-automated machines).
Ability to read schematics and manuals – Advanced.
Mechanical knowledge: motors, bearings, rollers, sprockets – Intermediate.
Pneumatics knowledge – Intermediate.
Electrical Systems knowledge – Intermediate.
Computerized systems, CMMS Knowledge – Intermediate.
English – Intermediate.
