Opportunity:

Physician - Hematology/Oncology

Job Details:

Provide full-time hematology/oncology coverage with clinic hours Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Support both Chambersburg and Waynesboro hospitals with inpatient and emergency consultation services

Take call rotation one week per month including weekend and night coverage with both inpatient and phone responsibilities

See approximately 15 patients per day with an average of 2 new patients daily, remainder being treatment and follow-up patients

Manage typical community oncology cases including lung, breast, prostate, and colorectal cancers with some hematology cases

Work with 20-minute appointments for pre-treatment and established follow-ups, 40 minutes for new hematology consults, and 60 minutes for new oncology consults

Serve as supervising provider for morning and afternoon urgent patient needs coverage each week

Coordinate radiation oncology care with navigator assistance and participate in tumor board meetings

Provide secure messaging consultation to hospital during clinic hours with 1-2 hours of rounding time as needed

Work alongside 1 nurse practitioner and 1 virtual hematologist as part of experienced team

Fellowship training required with board certification preferred, less experienced providers considered

The facility features a 274-bed hospital with integrated infusion centers at multiple locations that provide chemotherapy, immunotherapy, IVIG, IV iron, and non-chemotherapy injections. The cancer program offers coordinated care with radiation oncology services, tumor board participation, and modern technology including Nuance dictation systems to support quality patient care delivery.
