Position Overview
Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (PA‑C) PRN coverage at Level 4 NICU, AdventHealth Orlando.
Responsibilities
Provide care for NICU and newborn patients within scope of licensure and supervising physician’s scope of practice.
Evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, and order & interpret labs, x‑rays and other diagnostics per specialty guidelines under the guidance of the neonatologist.
Perform procedures such as intubation, lumbar puncture, umbilical line insertion, PICC line insertion, chest tube placement, and circumcisions.
Communicate effectively with parents, other specialists, and NICU team members.
Educate and support patients’ families.
Dispense medications under collaborative agreement with a supervising physician.
Required Education and Experience
Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies with neonatal certification (required).
1–2 years of NICU experience as an RN (highly preferred).
1–2 years of NICU experience as an Neonatal APRN or Neonatal PA‑C (preferred but not required).
Required Licensure and Certification
Valid Florida APRN or PA‑C license with neonatal certification.
Certification through ANCC or other nationally recognized certifying body.
NRP certification.
