Job Description
The Newcomb-Tulane College Career Service’s vision is to meet and engage with each student where they are on their unique career journey. The Employer Engagement Manager expands and strengthens Tulane’s internship ecosystem by cultivating high‑impact partnerships with employers, alumni, parents, and families across industries and regions. This role leads national and on‑campus engagement initiatives, including Career Treks, networking programs, recruiting events, and employer site visits, to connect students with meaningful experiential opportunities. In collaboration with the Career Services leadership team and campus partners, the Manager develops and executes strategies that grow internship pipelines, enhance employer visibility, and ensure exceptional recruiting experiences. The role also oversees key career engagement systems (CRMs), analyzes employer participation and hiring trends, and contributes to institutional goals that advance access to internships for all Tulane undergraduates.

This position will also work closely with the Director of the Mussafer Internship Initiative to design and execute employer- and alumni-facing experiences that strengthen internship opportunities and deepen Tulane’s external partnerships.

Responsibilities

Build, sustain, and steward relationships with employers, alumni, parents, and families that lead to undergraduate recruitment and internship pipelines.

Ability to apply knowledge of internships and experiential education within higher education to support student development and employer engagement efforts.

Identify, qualify, and cultivate new employer partnerships and talent pipelines strategically.

Skill in coordinating national and on-campus engagement events (Career Treks, networking programs, recruiting events) while managing multiple priorities effectively.

Collaborate effectively with internal teams, campus partners, Advancement, Alumni Relations, and initiative leadership.

Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to represent Tulane professionally with discretion and sound judgment.

Track engagement, participation, and outcomes and use data to inform strategy and storytelling.

Proficiency with career platforms, CRM systems, event tools, and standard productivity software (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Commitment to strategies that expand access to internships and career opportunities for all students.

Comfort navigating ambiguity, supporting a growing initiative, and proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.

Support team goals and contribute to shared institutional priorities.

Commitment to Tulane’s mission, values, and collaborative culture.

Maintain confidentiality and operate with decorum in managing sensitive information and stakeholder relationships.

This role will require some amount of local, regional and national travel.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree

5 years of sales, marketing, business development, account management, or relationship management experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree with emphasis on marketing, business development. Would also consider MBA or degree in Human Resources or other fields applicable to Higher Education environment or related fields.

Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at Tulane University.

Strategic planning and implementation; goal-setting skills.

Demonstration of leadership skills within a high-achieving team setting.

Exceptional communication (written, oral, presentation).

Demonstrated proficiency designing and delivering presentations.
