We are looking for an IT Systems Analyst to support our client based in Fort Lauderdale, FL. US-based candidates only. This is an onsite position. Candidates must be located or willing to relocate to South Florida/Miami.

The Opportunity
TECKpert’s client, a government agency in Broward County, FL, is seeking a Systems Analyst to support enterprise software applications and operational systems used across multiple departments. This role focuses on system analysis, application support, reporting, and technical coordination with business users and IT teams. The Systems Analyst will help translate operational needs into system requirements, support application enhancements, troubleshoot issues, and assist with reporting and data analysis activities. The position operates within a structured software development life cycle environment and supports both project‑based initiatives and ongoing operational system support.
Job Duties
Collaborate with functional departments and project teams to gather and document business and system requirements.
Participate in the software development life cycle including analysis, testing, implementation, and support of enterprise applications and interfaces.
Develop functional specifications, process documentation, and system design materials.
Support the maintenance and enhancement of existing applications and system integrations.
Use SQL queries to extract data for reporting and operational analysis.
Create and maintain reports using reporting tools such as Crystal Reports or similar reporting platforms.
Assist with troubleshooting and debugging system issues across enterprise applications.
Provide post‑implementation support and help identify opportunities for system improvements.
Evaluate technical solutions and assist with product or tool evaluations when needed.
Document and track support requests and work activities using a ticketing system.
Support multiple projects and operational tasks simultaneously while maintaining documentation and technical quality standards.
Participate in operational support rotations when required to support system availability.
Compensation and Term
This is a full‑time contract position with possible extensions and pay commensurate with experience, up to $65,000 per year. Medical, dental, vision and life insurance available after 30 days of hire.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
1 to 3 years of experience in systems analysis, application support, or technical analysis roles.
Experience working within the Software Development Life Cycle using Agile or Waterfall methodologies.
Strong analytical, documentation, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to analyze project documentation and translate business needs into system requirements.
Experience writing SQL queries to extract or analyze data.
Familiarity with reporting tools such as Crystal Reports or similar reporting platforms.
Experience supporting enterprise applications or integrating commercial off‑the‑shelf systems.
Understanding of object‑oriented concepts and client‑server architectures.
Experience troubleshooting and debugging application issues.
Proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience working with ticket tracking systems for managing support requests.
Experience in transportation or transit technology environments is a plus.
