Locums - Tampa, Florida NP/PA Neurosurgery Opportunity

Clinical RoleJoin a well-established, high-volume neurosurgery team as a First Assist provider. This inpatient-focused opportunity offers a mix of surgical assisting and rounding responsibilities within a large, trauma-certified hospital system.

Start Date: ASAPAssignment Length: Ongoing

• Full-time schedule (40 hours per week)
• First Assist role in the operating room
• Inpatient-only position (no outpatient responsibilities)
• Work alongside 5 neurosurgeons and 4 APPs
• High-volume, established neurosurgery practice
• Opportunity for multiple providers to be accepted

• Full-time: 40 hours per week
• Call Schedule:
  • Weekend call: 1:4-1:5 rotation
  • Night call: 1:4-1:5 rotation

Setting: Hospital (Inpatient)

Patient Population: Adult & Pediatric

Responsibilities Include:

• First assisting in neurosurgical procedures
• Inpatient rounding on neurosurgery patients
• Managing pre- and post-operative care
• Collaborating with neurosurgeons and care teams
• Participating in call rotation for nights and weekends

Procedures:

• First Assist required for neurosurgical cases

Facility Details:

• 600+ bed hospital
• Level II Adult Trauma Center
• Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
• Stroke Certified facility

Technology:

• EMR: Cerner

• Board Certified NP or PA - required
• Active Florida license - required
• ACLS and BLS - required
• Neurosurgery First Assist experience - required

• Established neurosurgery group with 5 neurosurgeons
• Strong APP team with 4 providers
• Collaborative, high-acuity surgical environment
• Team-based approach to patient care
