The main purpose of the
Controlled Substance Team Lead
position is to coordinate the activities of Controlled Substances and ensure adherence to all regulations as required.
Schedule:
8:00am - 5:00pm, with flexibility to work when needed 7:00am - 4:00pm or 9:00am - 6:00pm.
Salary:
$62,000 - $72,000 annually
Responsibilities & Duties:
Coordinate the Packaging of Controlled Substances with Production
Audit packaging rooms for controlled substances
Approve work orders and sign off control for the packaging
Communicate the release of material to other departments & complete material reports
Prepare Controlled Substances Orders
Perform due diligence to authenticate controlled substance orders
Pick and pack orders per shipping procedures
Work with the DEA and other third parties
Initiate DEA paperwork for imports and exports of international sales
Report any capsule machines and devices directly to DEA in Florida, Ohio, and New York
Communicate regularly with DEA and our manufacturers
Schedule the onsite due diligence visits for MEDISCA customers
Perform and complete all regulatory reporting requirements
Oversee filing system in accordance with DEA regulations
Assist with DEA audits when necessary
Oversee inventory control
Review and approve suspicious orders and collaborate with Quality Manager and Regulatory Affairs
Revise controlled substance procedures as required
Coordinate and facilitate training activities among controlled substance staff
Qualifications:
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in quality control
Knowledge of DEA regulations
Bachelor of Science
Excellent time management, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
Detail‑oriented with a strong customer focus
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel); Syspro is an asset
