Position Overview

This position is accountable for providing engineering assistance to the Resident Engineer in the inspection and layout of construction projects.

Essential Functions

Keep accurate and legible records of inspections, field measurements, and documentation of contracts.

Keep the Resident Engineer and Resident Technician, on a project‑by‑project basis, informed on status and/or problems of contractor’s work.

Provide accurate and efficient measurements and construction staking as a member of the survey crew.

Perform duties in compliance with departmental safety rules.

Perform all duties in a manner conducive to the fair and equitable treatment of all employees.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Completion of two years of college in civil engineering technology, pre‑engineering, or job related technical/science curriculum, or two years of engineering experience.

Conditions of Employment

Valid driver’s license.

Districtwide travel.

Successful completion of a background screening.
