
Supervisor, Production - 1st Shift

Job Summary
Supervisors in Production are responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality manufacturing. They provide leadership and direction to production employees, ensure compliance with company policies and food safety standards, and drive continuous improvement in productivity and employee engagement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide leadership, coaching, and accountability to production employees.
Ensure compliance with food safety standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP, and OSHA safety regulations.
Allocate labor, equipment, and materials efficiently to meet production targets.
Conduct root cause analysis and complete HACCP, Allergen, Fryer, and other safety/quality reports.
Oversee daily production schedules to achieve safety, quality, cost, and delivery targets.
Direct oversight of operators on a line or shift.
Provide hands‑on support, coaching, and training for new or less experienced employees.
Escalate complex issues to senior supervisors or Chief Supervisor.
Diagnose and resolve product, process, and equipment issues to minimize downtime.
Analyze performance data, recommend corrective actions, and implement process improvements.
Develop work schedules, training programs, and staffing plans.
Make decision‑making focused on immediate production needs.
Partner with Maintenance, Quality, HR, and other departments to resolve production issues.
Maintain accurate reports, logs, and metrics for production, safety, and attendance.
Promote teamwork, continuous improvement, and a positive work environment.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Requirements
Required Qualifications
Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school, or six+ months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Effective communication and problem‑solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and production reporting systems (ERP/ADP or similar).
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous supervisory experience in food manufacturing or related production environment strongly preferred.
Knowledge of food safety, GMPs, HACCP, and OSHA safety standards.
