Position Summary
The Technician I (Production, Assembly, QV Solar Panels) is responsible for performing assembly and production tasks in support of satellite system manufacturing. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow standardized work instructions, and a commitment to safety, quality, and productivity. The position supports manufacturing operations by assembling components, handling materials, and ensuring products meet established quality and performance standards.
$24.00 - $27.60 hour - DOE

Fri, Sat, Sun - 6:00 am- 6:00 pm (3x12 schedule)

Essential Functions
Production & Assembly
Assemble satellite subcomponents and production parts in accordance with work instructions and engineering specifications
Sort, stage, and organize materials on tables, racks, or bins
Use hand tools, fixtures, and measuring/test equipment to complete assembly tasks
Clean, package, and prepare completed assemblies for storage or shipment
Pack, seal, label, and move materials and finished goods as required
Handle small parts and components requiring manual dexterity
Quality & Productivity
Follow standardized procedures to ensure product quality and consistency
Inspect own work and identify opportunities for improvement
Meet established productivity and production targets
Report defects, discrepancies, or process issues to supervision
Safety & Compliance
Follow all safety policies and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Comply with applicable safety standards under the Occupational Safety and Health Act
Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Team Collaboration
Follow instructions and respond appropriately to supervisory direction
Communicate effectively with team members and support cross‑functional operations
Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs
Minimum Qualifications (Basic Qualifications)
High school diploma or GED
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a manufacturing environment
Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks with attention to detail
Ability to meet production and quality expectations
Ability to perform physical requirements of the role with or without reasonable accommodation
Must be authorized to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in manufacturing, assembly, or production environments
Familiarity with hand tools, measuring devices, and basic mechanical processes
Experience working in aerospace or high‑precision manufacturing settings
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Time management and reliability

Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours per shift)

Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
Ability to communicate effectively (talk/hear) in a production environment

Compensation
Compensation is determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity. This position is eligible for overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act.
