
MA LAB TECHNICIAN

Overview
Franklin Primary Health Center is seeking a Medical Assistant/Lab Technician for our Mobile, AL location. In this full-time role, you’ll perform routine lab procedures, assist with phlebotomy, and support multiple providers and departments with sample collection, test processing, and recordkeeping.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure all lab results are entered in the electronic medical record
Perform routine lab tests including HbA1c, Urine Dip, Strep A, Glucose, HCG, PT/INR, etc.
Perform phlebotomy on children, adults, and elderly patients
Document quality control and assurance procedures
Monitor inventory and reorder lab supplies as needed
Maintain and clean laboratory equipment
Process specimens and report test results
Notify providers of critical lab results
Maintain accurate records and timely result availability
Support CLIA compliance with training, documentation, and competencies
Provide lab coverage at other site locations as needed
Participate in in-house training and maintain CEUs
Answer and route phone calls professionally
Assist providers and patients with resolving billing discrepancies
Perform equipment troubleshooting and maintenance
Ensure proficiency testing is performed and documented per regulations
Qualifications
Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant Program with lab training emphasis
Certified/Registered with phlebotomy certification required
CPR certification required
Multi-tasking ability in clinical and clerical roles (lab, patient care, x-ray)
National MLT certification preferred
Work Schedule & Pay
Full-time | Monday–Friday | Day shift | $16.00–$18.00 per hour
