Research Senior Technician
Focus: Understanding colloidal phosphorus cycling and bioavailability in the western Lake Erie watershed.

Responsibilities
Conduct field sampling and run colloidal phosphorus binding & release experiments.
Perform colloidal equilibrium phosphorus experiments (cECP) and process dissolved, colloid, sediment, and plant samples for phosphorus, nitrogen, carbon, chlorophyll‑a, and other constituents.
Run dissolved samples on an ICP‑OES and analyze the data.
Assist in designing laboratory and field experiments and surveys, including instream sampling.
Oversee and train undergraduate and graduate students working on project-related tasks.
Support allied projects by conducting laboratory analyses when available.
Curate and analyze data, and help prepare reports and scientific manuscripts.
Mentor undergraduate students and collaborate on research projects.
Education
Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Ecology or a related field.
Additional education desired: none.
Qualifications
At least two years of experience in the collection and analysis of dissolved and particulate samples for phosphorus.
Knowledge of ecology, freshwater science, or biogeochemistry.
Background Check
