Job Overview
This Rehabilitation Casework Technician position is located in the Hickory VR/IL Unit Office in Catawba County. The primary purpose of this role is to provide administrative and casework support to Rehabilitation Counselors who deliver services to individuals receiving Independent Living Services through the Hickory EIPD Unit.
Job Responsibilities
Interview consumers and gather diagnostic reports to assist counselors with determining eligibility and required services.
Assist in developing written plans of services in conjunction with the consumer, parent, and/or guardian.
Conduct in‑person home visits with consumers for assessment and service provision.
Document casework data and the provision of services throughout the rehabilitation process in the case management system.
Prepare documents, file, schedule, and enter casework data, including invoices, billing documents, and correspondence to support consumer services.
Work with community employers and partners to place highly qualified consumers in appropriate jobs, leading to successful employment outcomes.
Provide additional support as designated by the counselor and complete all related administrative tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of and/or experience working with people with disabilities.
Experience providing effective front‑line service to the public, including responding to inquiries, resolving concerns, and maintaining professionalism in a fast‑paced setting.
Ability to be flexible, detail‑oriented, and organized with multiple priority assignments.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $39,244 – $68,679 (grade NC08). The position is eligible for a hybrid‑teleworking schedule, including weekly onsite work hours.
