Description of Work
The position is located in the Compliance and Support unit of the Central Office within the Social Services Division and works at the Customer Support Call Center in Martin County, NC. The role supports Title IV, Part D child support services by:

locating the non‑custodial parent;

establishing paternity;

establishing support obligations;

collecting support payments;

enforcing support obligations.

Responsibilities

Provide accurate information to callers about their case(s)

Update demographic information in case records in the statewide Child Support System, ACTS (Automated Collection and Tracking System)

Assist with basic participant website registration

Generate ACTS documents for callers

Explain notices, application process and fees for child support services

Explain service timelines, wage withholding information, arrears balances, and payment distribution information

Provide appointment/hearing dates and times

Document customer interactions in ACTS and notify responsible case managers

Qualifications

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred experience working in a call center setting addressing callers’ needs.

Preferred customer service skills demonstrated in an office or medical setting.

Preferred data entry experience.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $39,244 - $68,679 (Recruitment Range: $39,244 - $40,492). The State of North Carolina offers comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, NCFlex program, paid vacation, sick and community service leave, and paid parental leave for eligible employees.
