Customer Care Representative – Pathology / Diagnostics
Pay
$21.00 – $23.00 per hour
Overview
A well‑established, accredited diagnostics organization is seeking a detail‑oriented Customer Care Representative to support its pathology reporting and client communication functions. This organization operates a high‑volume laboratory environment and provides specialized diagnostic services to healthcare providers nationwide.
This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and experience working with medical documentation in a regulated healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
Review, edit, and proofread diagnostic reports to ensure accuracy, consistency, proper grammar, and adherence to medical terminology and formatting standards
Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and ensure full compliance with HIPAA and privacy regulations
Collaborate with pathologists and internal clinical staff to resolve unclear documentation and report discrepancies
Participate in quality assurance activities aimed at improving report accuracy and operational efficiency
Support general client service functions, including document management, record maintenance, and report distribution
Respond to inbound calls from medical offices seeking clarification or assistance related to diagnostic reports
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Prior experience in medical transcription or clinical documentation (pathology experience highly preferred)
Working knowledge of medical terminology; pathology familiarity is a strong plus
Strong listening, communication, and customer service skills
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team‑based environment
Work Environment
Fast‑paced clinical diagnostics setting
