Outpatient Therapist

How you’ll contribute

Conduct individual and group therapy sessions to educate patients about psychological, emotional, or substance abuse problems.

Participate actively in the treatment planning process.

Provide family session counseling to ensure appropriate communication and involvement of family members and support groups.

Communicate actively with clients, families, and outside referral sources.

Proactively communicate with those involved in the patient’s treatment.

Work well with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, utilization review, and nursing staff members.

Communicate effectively to UR on treatment and LOS issues.

Complete appropriate paperwork for clients in a timely, accurate, and complete manner.

Demonstrate crisis intervention and de‑escalation skills.

Act as a member of the team when a crisis occurs, assisting others to ensure patient safety.

Complete accurate assessments of patients using clinical skills.

Assist care coordination department as requested.

Document thoroughly, timely, and in accordance with hospital standards.

Show thorough knowledge of confidentiality and HIPAA regulations, and abide by those standards.

Demonstrate knowledge of all clinical regulations, including TJC, Medicaid, and state/federal laws.

Involve in discharge, transition, and after‑care planning processes.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

What we’re looking for

Education: Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or an equivalent field.

License: Current clinical or social work license as required by state regulations.

Certifications: CPR and de‑escalation certification required or obtained within 30 days of hire.
