
HME Patient Coordinator

Overview
A Hug Away Medical Supplies, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented HME Coordinator to oversee our medical supply operations. This role is ideal for a highly organized, compassionate professional with strong HME experience who thrives in a patient-focused, compliance-driven environment.
Responsibilities
Inventory Control: Conduct monthly inventory audits, track usage, monitor expiration dates, and coordinate restocking.
Sales & Order Coordination: Oversee the DME order process from intake to delivery and follow-up, including insurance verification and patient education.
Compliance Oversight: Ensure compliance with Medicare, HQAA, HIPAA, and OSHA standards; maintain required documentation and operational logs.
Customer Service: Address patient concerns, resolve issues promptly, and conduct post-delivery satisfaction calls.
Vendor & Partner Communication: Liaise with suppliers, delivery staff, referral sources, and healthcare partners.
Reporting: Compile and submit monthly inventory and sales reports; contribute to quarterly quality improvement reports (QAPI).
Marketing Support: Assist with community outreach and referrals; implement in-store promotions and education events.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in Durable Medical Equipment (DME) or Home Medical Supply operations.
Strong knowledge of Medicare billing, DME regulations, and patient education.
Proficiency with Brightree.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team.
