Job Summary
The Department of Cell & Developmental Biology is seeking a full‑time Research Laboratory Technician Associate in a lab that studies circadian clocks, sleep, and metabolism using Drosophila as a model system.
Responsibilities
The candidate will assume responsibility for
performing routine lab work and data analysis including:
Drosophila handling, fluorescence microscopy, live imaging, imaging analysis, high-throughput genome sequencing techniques.
Additional responsibilities include:
recording and analyzing data under the guidance of the PI or a graduate student or a postdoctoral fellow, and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Biology and one year of experience is required. Candidates who have just finished their undergraduate degree and who want to work in a lab for a few years before applying to graduate school or medical school are preferred.
Desired Qualifications
Experience in Drosophila handling and confocal microscopy is desired, but not required.
