Job description
We are seeking a skilled Welder/fitter to join our team. We are looking for Fitters that can weld their own fits, can pass a 3g weld test on carbon steel, and can arc gouge. The successful candidate will be responsible for welding pipes up to 120 inches in diameter, primarily using flux core welding techniques. Candidates should be able to back gouge and have experience welding boilers or pressure vessels, as these skills typically transfer well to the position. Welding will be focused on carbon steel, with stainless steel experience as a plus.
Responsibilities
Perform flux core welding on pipes up to 120 inches in diameter.
Engage in some fitting tasks, with fitting or fabrication experience being advantageous.
Execute back gouging and arc gouging effectively.
Read and interpret tape measures accurately.
Ensure high-quality welds on carbon steel, typically quarter inch to 1 inch in diameter.
Be open to coaching and development to improve skills.
Qualifications
Flux core – minimum 2 years experience.
Fitting – minimum 2 years experience.
Arc gouging – minimum 6 months experience.
Shift
Monday - Friday
1st Shift | 6am - 2:30pm
2nd Shift | 2:30pm - 11pm
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Columbia, SC. It is a fully onsite position.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $47,840.00 - $66,560.00 per year.
Medical and dental insurance and 401(k) contributions begin the first of the month after hire, accompanied by direct placement opportunity.
