
Wind Farm Service Technician

Responsibilities
The Wind Service Technician performs planned and unplanned maintenance, including troubleshooting and replacement of parts if necessary, in a safe and professional manner on wind turbines. Detailed records and parts used must be completed for all work performed. Technicians report to site management, communicate needs and safety issues that arise, and perform preventive maintenance to be completed on time and right the first time. Relocation may be offered for this role if necessary.
Key Tasks
Perform mainly pre-defined, technical tasks such as basic commissioning of products and systems, integration of components to a system, basic engineering, and maintenance jobs on site and remotely.
Support customers remotely and onsite, and provide 2nd and 3rd level user support for issues.
Coordinate and accomplish defined service operations and resolve product issues for customers' equipment.
Work in stressful, dangerous situations; participate in the development of new field procedures and best practices for wind power projects.
Flexible travel schedule up to 10‑25% travel. Complete and maintain required documentation and records.
Flexibility to work outside planned hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call.
Work in varying temperature conditions and adverse weather conditions.
Qualifications
Some experience climbing wind towers (up to 300 ft) multiple times and preferred experience without climbing aids or lifts.
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record; must maintain license and may be subject to periodic DMV checks.
Physically and mentally able to work suspended from heights and in confined spaces.
Willing to travel up to 25%.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must meet weight restriction of 265 lbs or less as required by equipment safety regulations.
Must pass a physical administered by a medical examiner to ensure ability to safely perform job functions and meet physical demands.
