We create for our global customers engineered components and sub-systems that deliver extreme precision and performance for a range of mission-critical applications—from minimally invasive surgery to robotics to 3D metal printing.**Job Summary**This job is responsible for welding aluminum shapes to vacuum tight standards.**Primary Responsibilities*** Select, install and adjust tips, shield.* Install and replace gas tanks, fill/wire according to type of weld type and assembly.* Secure parts and assemblies with clamps and custom fixturing.* Review finished part for conformance to design with use of measuring instruments such as calipers and rulers.* Use schematics, blueprints, verbal and written instructions to weld and rework parts..* Resolves and/or reports welding problems accordingly to establish company procedures.* May be required to fill out and submit Non Conformance Reports (NCR’s).* Maintains clean and safe working environment.* Contributes to team effort and other tasks as needed.* Strict compliance with the quality, occupational safety and environmental regulations.* Implementation of the instructions of the quality / environmental management representative and the occupational safety specialist.**Required Experience, Education, Skills and Competencies*** HS or equivalent* Previous experience with aluminum Tig welding* 1+ years of work experience or experience in school or apprenticeship setting* Experience with welding to vacuum tight standards is a plus.* A strong work ethic and attention to detail are a must.* Attention to quality & workmanship* Ability to use small hand tools.* Skill with precision measuring equipment and a wide variety of hand tools.**Travel Requirements*** None**Physical Requirements*** Able to lift up to 40 lbs.* Standing and sitting while performing duties and tasks.**Compensation*** Compensation for this temporary position is expected from $31.00 to $41.00 per hour based on experience.Novanta is proud to be an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action workplace.
