Pharmacy Technician in Training
Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a Pharmacy Technician in Training. As a Pharmacy Technician in Training at MercyOne, you will assist in the provision of pharmaceutical care to inpatients and outpatients ranging in age from premature newborns to geriatrics.
Responsibilities
Work with and assist pharmacists and nurses with pharmacy‑related issues for patients and facilitate the implementation of provider orders
Perform dispensing functions under the supervision of a pharmacist
Prepare IV admixtures as well as any other sterile preparation encountered in pharmacy according to departmental policies
Make regular deliveries of medications to nursing units
Process unit‑based Pyxis refill reports and promptly deliver/resupply medications to the nursing units
Answer and process incoming phone calls to the department
Assist with department inventory procedures and processes
Process patient medication charges and credits accurately into pharmacy and/or hospital information system

General Requirements
High school diploma or GED
Upon hire, must be enrolled and maintain enrollment in Trinity Health's ASHP Pharmacy Technician training program
Application for temporary Iowa license upon hire
Full Iowa license upon completion
Valid driver's license
Pharmacy Tech Trainee will be required to complete 400 hours of training and obtain PTCB certification within 180 days of hire
