NextCare Urgent Care is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Medical Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced setting and enjoys teamwork. We seek customer-friendly and passionate employees to be part of a growing organization where patients and employees are a top priority.
Responsibilities
Assists provider with exams (including patient vitals), procedures and other direct patient care under the supervision of the Provider and within the Medical Assistant scope of practice.
Administers medications per policy and Provider direction and adheres to safety protocols for medication administration.
Performs blood draws as directed by the Provider.
May be responsible for urine collection for various testing, including employer drug screens.
May perform splinting and casting.
Conducts physicals such as sports physicals.
Performs other urgent-care related duties (e.g., ear lavage, wound care, oxygen administration).
Notifies the on-duty provider promptly of unusual patient occurrences, including medication events, via incident report.
Notifies the Clinic Manager of patient or employee safety concerns.
Follows laboratory and clinical accreditation policies.
Must be proficient in EMR/EHR systems.
Performs other duties as assigned or described by Company policy.
In addition, the Medical Assistant may support Front Office Reception: keeping patients and families informed of wait times, monitoring patient flow, and handling discharge-related tasks including processing charges and collecting payments with necessary signatures and receipts.

Essential Education, Experience And Skills
ARIZONA
Education: Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent;
AND
Completed an APPROVED (accredited) Medical Assistant training program.
OR
Completed an UNAPPROVED (non-accredited) Medical Assistant training program AND national certification through one of the following:
American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) – CMA exam and certification; or
American Medical Technologists (AMT) – RMA exam and certification; or
National Healthcareer Association (NHA) – CCMA exam and certification.
