Role Overview
As an Electromechanical Technician at WITRON, you will play a key role on our team by helping keep our automated systems running smoothly. You will perform both planned and reactive maintenance, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, and offer support to equipment operators. With your focus on safety, efficiency, and accurate documentation, you will help minimize downtime and ensure high system performance. You will support daily operations through accurate tracking of maintenance tasks in our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and contribute to a clean and organized workspace by applying 5S principles.

Qualifications

Relevant Electrical and/or Mechanical qualification

Post-secondary training from a technical school or vocational program (e.g., Electrician, Millwright)

Mechanically inclined with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Practical mindset with the ability to learn new tasks quickly

Excellent PC skills and ability to work with digital systems

Strong sense of safety, responsibility, and professionalism

Comfortable working independently and as part of a team

Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and shift schedules

Committed to maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient workspace

Skills/Experience Required

1–2 years minimum experience as an Electromechanical Technician

Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing automated systems (e.g., conveyors, cranes, hoists)

Skilled in mechanical repairs and use of hand/power tools (a must)

Familiarity with AC systems up to 600/400/480 volts and DC systems up to 24 volts

Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, symbols, and electrical measuring tools

Knowledge of electrical/mechanical drive technology (e.g., motors and gears)

Familiarity with control technology (e.g., controls, inverters)

Basic understanding of PLC logic

Ability to climb vertical ladders and work at heights up to 100 feet (30 meters) with training and PPE, such as fall protection harness

Ability to work in temperature conditions ranging from 55°F to -15°F (13°C to -26°C), (PPE provided)

Willing to work days, evenings, nights, and weekends (shifts based on hire date and operational needs)

Key Responsibilities

Follow health and safety regulations and actively contribute to maintaining a safe working environment

Perform unplanned and reactive electrical and mechanical repairs

Execute planned maintenance work orders in accordance with company policies and procedures

Troubleshoot and diagnose general electrical and mechanical faults

Monitor system performance and maintain awareness of operational status

Ensure proper use and understanding of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

Provide non-technical support to equipment operators

Replace and set up electrical and mechanical components

Ensure proper use of tools and spare parts

Clean equipment and work area as required

Document all maintenance activities accurately and in a timely manner

Apply and uphold 5S principles in the work environment

Be accountable for audit results, individual efficiency, and minimizing equipment downtime

During commissioning stages (pre-golive): perform verifications, setup adjustments and various other commissioning related tasks in conjunction with the assigned project teams with the goal of understanding, familiarizing yourself and mastering the OPM equipment before it goes live.
