Job Description
The Attorney General’s Office is hiring a Paralegal for the Insurance & Financial Services Division (IFSD). This role supports investigations, mediations, and enforcement actions related to banking, securities, insurance products, and other financial services.

Primary Duties

Provide administrative, technical, and investigative support for settlement implementations, mediations, and consumer outreach.

Assist IFSD attorneys and technical staff with ongoing litigation and investigations, including organizing and reviewing discovery materials, analyzing data, researching, managing files, and entering case information into databases.

Engage in communication with consumers, witnesses, experts, and others via mail, electronic mail, and telephone, and aid in drafting memoranda, consumer advisories, and reports.

Input data into Excel, perform formulaic computations, and conduct data searches.

Position Type
Full‑Time / Non‑Exempt. Hybrid model includes some remote workdays; on in‑office days, employees are required to report to a designated office location, either in Boston or a regional office.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, preferred.

Experience providing support to experts and attorneys in a legal setting, preferred.

Familiarity with consumer lending rules, securities regulation, and/or consumer insurance issues, preferred.

Committed to working in the public interest.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.

Demonstrated ability to complete complex tasks, follow instructions, be intellectually curious, and produce high‑quality work based on financial services data.

Effective analytical, research, and communication skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Word and Excel. Other programming or data analysis experience is also helpful.

Demonstrated connection to the people and communities served by the Attorney General’s Office and an interest in supporting a respectful and inclusive work environment.
