Position Summary
Assist the site management team in staffing and development of qualified personnel and other Human Resources (HR) functions while ensuring compliance with government regulations and corporate policy. Primary point on processing and maintaining site payroll including processing bi-weekly payroll through corporate payroll, processing manual check requests, bonuses, etc. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.
Position Responsibilities
Assist with posting, recruiting, screening / interviewing and hiring of prospective candidates. Manage cost effectiveness and methods of recruiting. Ensure all new hires complete a post-offer, pre-employment drug test and physical, as required.
Manage new hire orientations to include but not limited to benefits, policies and procedures, company history and other pertinent information. Ensures on-boarding documentation is completed accruately and timely including I-9 verifications. Obtains access badges and pre-orders necessary equipment / technology as needed for each role. Coordinates scheduling new hire Driver, Warehouse and Sales Safety orientations within required timelines.
Process bi-weekly payroll timely and accurately. Ensures any pay adjustments are within company parameters and have appropriate approvals prior to processing, such as pay changes, promotions, sales commissions and quarterly driver bonuses, etc.
Manage service awards recognition, STAR orders, steel toed boot/shoe program, birthday/anniversary related activities, office supplies, and other activities as needed.
Facilitate associate relation issues during absence of Director, HR. Gather necessary information, researches, and discusses with appropriate parties as necessary. Assist with finding solutions. Stay abreast of situations to ensure problems are resolved. Keep Director, HR abreast of all situations. Assist with creating, implementing, maintaining and updating human resources policies and procedures.
Assist with providing benefit information to associates, by directing associates to PFG’s Benefits Center. Encourage timely benefit elections. Ensure necessary information is input into the Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) in a timely manner.
Ensure fair pay practices for all associates. Assist with creating and maintaining job descriptions for all positions. Ensure job descriptions are reviewed between associates and respective managers/supervisors.
Maintain and ensure legal compliance of associate personnel files and HRIS database. Assist in maintaining the HRIS system. Attend training as required and necessary. Provide ad hoc reports as requested.
Help maintain accurate information regarding annual HR reviews (e.g., new hire, disciplinary action, termination, etc.). Provide necessary reports, logs, files, etc. as requested during reviews.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent
4-6 years Human Resources generalist experience with three (3) years in recruiting and hiring exempt and non-exempt associates and at least one (1) year processing payroll.
Current and thorough knowledge of employment law.
Proficiency with HRIS and Payroll software.
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
High degree of confidentiality and discretion.
Experience with Recruiting, Onboarding and Training.
High level of detail orientation and accuracy.
Extremely well organized with excellent time management.
Excellent analysis, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
