Overview
The Line Leader is directly responsible for the results of a line, value stream team, or technology group. Owns Production, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety and Morale (PQCDSM) results for their area. The Line Leader evaluates losses and develops plans to systematically eliminate those losses. The Line Leader coaches team leaders on every shift and oversees 15 to 30 employees in packaging and/or processing operations, ensuring all products coming off the line have the highest quality possible. Accountable for supporting 3 shifts across 7 days of production. At Danone, manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams. We are currently hiring a Line Leader based in City of Industry, CA.
Key Responsibilities
Provides leadership to the Line Team (frontline workers) and Line Trio (Line Leader, Process Engineer, and Maintenance Leader) through clear priorities and direction
Develops Annual and 90-Day action plans for the line(s)
Ensures line staffing is adequate and available
Drives accountability within the team and self to implement and follow Danone Integrated Work Systems (IWS) principles
Provides training on key Daily Management Systems (DMS) to technicians, including evaluation and qualification
Supports supply chain loss analysis/elimination
Drives cultural change by leading the organization engagement survey results
Implements and follows all safety procedures as stated in safety standards and code of ethics
Ensures all safety rules, plant rules, GMP, and code of ethics are followed by employees, supervisors, customers, and visitors at all times
Trains, coaches, and gives timely performance appraisals to employees
Able to back-up or represent the Business Unit Manager as required
Collaborates with Process Engineer and Maintenance Leader to develop and maintain standards
Uses data to identify process losses
Works with line management to prioritize improvement opportunities
Eliminates or reduces prioritized losses through process or work system changes
Leads the Daily Direction Setting (DDS) process
Owns critical daily management systems
Standardizes equipment and work processes. Updates process control strategies and operating procedures as changes occur
Shares and reapplies learning across processes, modules, and plants
Prepares and delivers training on process/equipment changes
Develops self through participating in corporate and external training
Spends 60-80% of time on the floor
Demonstrates technical expertise for a designated process
Coaches and collaborates with line teams, site and regional equipment or process owners related to operations/process fields
Maintains a safe and clean working environment for all employees and visitors
Delivers on SQCDMN daily/weekly/monthly/yearly goals and objectives through individual and team efforts
Ensures adherence to safety standards and regulations (WISE) to ensure a safe working environment
Supervisor Responsibilities
Supervise union
onunion employees in the production area and composite closures, ensuring product quality, food safety compliance, awareness, and teamwork
Trains, develops and coaches all employees on the production line
Provides leadership in hiring and disciplinary recommendations
Monitors and reviews the performance and timekeeping of employees. Initiates corrective disciplinary actions as necessary in a timely manner and in accordance with company and CBA policies
Physical Demands
Frequent standing, walking, and use of hands to handle objects; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; ability to taste and/or smell; and ability to talk and hear
Ability to bend and stoop at waist level and twist neck and head
Regularly endures repetitive lifting of 10–50 lbs and occasional team lifting above 50 lbs
Normal range of hearing and vision (including color) to record, prepare and communicate reports
Frequently stands on a concrete surface for extended shifts
Occasionally climbs stairs, step ladders, or stools
Moderate noise level in the work environment
Ability to work up to 12-hour shifts

Compensation & Benefits
Danone North America offers a performance-based bonus and a comprehensive benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, Prescription Drug Coverage, 401k Plan, Wellness Program, Life Insurance, Tuition Reimbursement, Flexible Time Off, and Paid Parental Bonding Leave, among other options. The base compensation range for this position is $91,000 - $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

Education & Experience
High School/GED required
4-year engineering degree preferred
3+ years’ experience in manufacturing with demonstrated technical aptitude required
