Overview
We are seeking an Intermediate Allen-Bradley PLC Controls Engineer to support on-site installation, configuration, and commissioning activities for an automation project. This role will involve hands‑on work with hardware installation, PLC updates, testing, troubleshooting, and bringing equipment online at the customer’s facility.
Key Responsibilities
Perform on-site installation, wiring verification, and system setup of automation equipment.
Implement PLC program updates and make minor modifications in Studio 5000 / RSLogix 5000 as required.
Assist with the configuration and testing of HMI/SCADA systems (FactoryTalk View ME/SE).
Conduct system testing, debugging, and tuning of control logic during commissioning.
Collaborate with senior controls engineers and customer technicians to ensure successful equipment startup.
Diagnose and resolve equipment, network, and controls‑related issues during installation.
Document changes, update I/O lists, and support as‑built documentation.
Ensure adherence to safety standards and customer site protocols.
Required Qualifications
3–5 years of experience in industrial automation or controls engineering.
Hands‑on proficiency with Allen‑Bradley PLCs , particularly ControlLogix and CompactLogix.
Working knowledge of Studio 5000 / RSLogix 5000 , including ability to read and modify ladder logic and structured text.
Understanding of industrial networks such as EtherNet/IP.
Experience with electrical panels, instrumentation, and field devices.
Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work effectively in a customer‑facing environment.
Ability to travel and work on‑site for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with FactoryTalk View ME/SE or similar HMI platforms.
Familiarity with VFDs, servos, and safety circuits.
Prior commissioning or field service experience.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
