DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position leads and supports the nursing staff, as well as ensures that residents receive safe and effective care across multiple service areas. This role promotes teamwork, communication, and strong clinical oversight to maintain high quality nursing services. As a Registered Nurse Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:

  • Communication Oversight: Provide clear, therapeutic, and daily communication with residents, families, and staff
  • Team Support: Guide and mentor nursing personnel to foster teamwork and effective collaboration
  • Resident Advocacy: Review resident care needs and act to support safe and appropriate treatment
  • Staff Development: Identify training needs and deliver ongoing orientation and instruction to nursing staff
  • Documentation Duties: Maintain records, review care assessments, and prepare reports and employee evaluations

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 2:45 PM to 11:15 PM, rotating on and off duty days including weekends and holidays, with a 30-minute lunch. This may change based on operational needs.
  • Overtime as needed

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years as a Registered Nurse (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of professional nursing experience providing care and treatment services consistent with those needed for individuals with a mental or physical injury or illness and/or a developmental disability.

Special Requirements:

  • All positions require active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
  • All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
