DESCRIPTION OF WORK

County Social Services Case Aides within our Children and Youth Services Department are a vital part of the organization. Our team will rely on your strong organizational skills, ability to interact professionally with families, and understanding of confidentiality requirements. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Transporting children and their families to medical visits, family visits, and other appointments, including locations outside the County limits.
  • Assisting clients, residents, and their families with activities of daily living.
  • Providing supervision for visitations as needed.
  • Completing routine administrative tasks to support casework staff.


You will work cooperatively in a team environment with other Aides, Clerks, Caseworkers, and Supervisors in an attempt to provide the best possible outcomes for children and families across the County. Join today and make a difference with us!


Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Depending on the needs of clients, non-traditional hours may be necessary. Occasional nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Graduation from high school; or
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience.


Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.


Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
