
Assistant Coach Field Hockey (COACH AST 3)

Overview
Under general direction of the women's field hockey head coach, assist in all aspects of an NCAA Division I women's field hockey program including student recruitment, scheduling, team travel, scouting opponents, practice planning, assisting with the administration of summer camps and clinics, and administration of the women's field hockey program in full compliance with NCAA and university rules and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
Complete and pass the National Collegiate Athletic Association Recruiting Examination per NCAA bylaw 12.1, 2.2.1 and be CPR & First Aid certified bi-annually.
Bachelor Degree, and/or equivalent experience/training with a college-level program.
NCAA or elite level field hockey coaching experience and/or collegiate playing experience.
Knowledge of the rules and strategies of field hockey. This includes, but is not limited to, teaching techniques, coaching strategies and safety measures that are necessary for athletes to compete at the collegiate level.
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to interact effectively and establish cooperative working relationships with UC Davis student-athletes, coaching colleagues, department staff and other persons from diverse backgrounds including parents, fans, boosters, members of the media and officials associated with the sport.
Ability to learn the complex policies and procedures regarding academic eligibility of UC Davis student-athletes. These include UC Davis, California Collegiate Athletic Association and the National Collegiate Athletic Association policies and procedures.
