Summary: INFRA TECH ENGINEERING is a trusted multi‑discipline engineering firm with over 43 years of experience delivering comprehensive transportation infrastructure solutions across New York. We specialize in highway and bridge design, civil engineering, construction inspection, materials testing, and bridge inspection services for NYSDOT, local municipalities, and the NYS Thruway. As we expand our construction inspection team, we are seeking dedicated Transportation Construction Inspectors (all levels) to support critical highway and bridge projects throughout New York State, with a primary focus on NYSDOT Region 1 and the Capital District. This role offers a dynamic, field‑based environment with opportunities for professional growth, competitive compensation, and a comprehensive benefits package. Responsibilities
Conduct field and office inspections to verify conformance with approved plans, specifications, and industry standards
Review construction plans, technical documents, and project records for accuracy and compliance
Document inspection findings, daily activities, and work progress with precision and timeliness
Perform quantity calculations and support material takeoffs and progress reporting
Ensure adherence to NYSDOT Standard Specifications for Construction and Materials, as well as the Manual of Uniform Record Keeping (MURK)
Utilize NYSDOT Site Manager software for data entry, reporting, and project tracking
Collaborate with project engineers, contractors, and agency representatives to resolve technical issues and maintain project timelines
Maintain accurate and complete inspection logs, reports, and field notes
Requirements
Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle required
NICET certification (II, III, or IV) preferred; NICET III/IV required for Office Engineer and Chief Inspector roles
Industry‑recognized certifications in highway inspection: ACI Concrete Field Testing, ATSSA, NETTCP (Soil & Aggregate, HMA), OSHA, and WZTC
Proven experience in construction inspection of NYSDOT or federally funded highway and bridge projects
Experience using NYSDOT Site Manager software
