Ergon Marine & Industrial Supply, Inc., has an opening for a Dispatcher at its Vicksburg location.

The Dispatcher position is the first communication between customer vessels and EMIS relaying information to the appropriate department.
Dispatcher Responsibilities include the following:
Primary switchboard phone operator
MMT on-call answering service during nights and weekends
Monitor emails frequently for incoming boat orders, verifying recipients and forwarding to the correct departments if necessary
Customer orders received by phone are forwarded to the appropriate department or a message taken and given to the appropriate department as soon as possible
Fleeting orders received by email or phone are called directly to a harbor boat via radio for immediate orders and entered into the TowWorks system
Complete Barge Movement Form for order pertaining to local dock work
Create a boat sheet for all customer vessel orders notating all services requested
Communicate with customer vessels daily to obtain current location and updated ETA passing this information to all departments on the ETA Notification form or by phone if necessary
Maintain updated ETA Customer Vessel Board and boat sheets
Verify Parts List against Boat Sheets
Verify ETA Notification form from Grocery Department against boat sheets
Call loading instructions to all departments using the PA system
Maintain Vessel Traffic Log using AIS.
Communicate emergency situations with 911 Dispatch
Assist Vicksburg Information Center (VIC) during high water event
Complete Vehicle Release Form for crew vehicles left on EMIS property
Process Crew Change to include the following:
Scan TWIC card for incoming crew members
Record on and off crew members on a Parts Ticket requesting one crew member to sign the ticket
Dispatcher Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Must work well with others
Strong organizational skills; good communication skills; attention to detail
Clerical experience
Clear and articulate speaking voice
Minimum of 2 weeks on-the-job training with experienced dispatcher
Must obtain or be in possession of a valid TWIC Card (Transportations Workers Identification Credential)
Must be able to work the following shift; 3 days 5am-5pm, 3 nights 5pm-5am, and 3 days off
Any offer of employment will be contingent on a routine background check, a pre-employment drug screen, and an acceptable motor vehicle report.
