Front Desk Student Associate
The Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost is looking for a student associate with excellent customer service skills, good attention to detail, and self-motivated to help with general office duties. This position is limited to current students at the University of Texas at Austin. This position is expected to cover the 2026 Summer semester with the opportunity to extend based on the availability of funding, work performance, and progress toward goals. Both work study and non-work study students are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities include:
Support general front desk when needed including answering phones, greeting all visitors and staff to our office, and helping with visitors' questions with an elevated level of customer service and hospitality.
Support general office operations tasks.
Assist in meeting logistics including set up, clean up, and reset.
Assist with regular checks and stocking of office supplies.
Retrieve office mail and distribute as appropriate.
Creating and managing spreadsheets and tables, using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
Assist with electronic and paper files, scanning and uploading, and shredding when necessary.
Deliver items to other buildings on campus when needed.
Assist with inventory.
Other tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Current student at UT Austin enrolled in at least 3 credit hours in at least one summer session or enrolled in at least 6 hours in the fall/spring, and good standing (not on academic probation, continued probation or academic dismissal).
Ensure all hours worked in a week, along with your class schedule, do not exceed 40 hours.
Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to express thoughts clearly and ask questions.
Experience using computer and office equipment in a general office customer service setting.
Proficient at Microsoft Office Suite and UT applications.
Organization and problem-solving skills with exceptional multi-tasking; ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines for successful completion of work.
Availability to work at least 12 hours per week between the hours of 8:00 AM 5:00 PM.
Ability to lift 25 pounds standing.
Preferred Qualifications
Availability during lunchtime hours and/or until 5:00 pm is a plus.
Salary Range
$14.00 per hour
