Overview
As a PhD Intern in the SAP Internship Experience Program, you will work with experienced researchers and data scientists to tackle challenges posed by SAP customers and product units, advancing Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence for SAP product development.

Contract:

4 months (minimum 4, ideally 6)

Hours:

Full-time, 40 hrs per week

Responsibilities

Collaborate with a team of experienced researchers and data scientists to address challenges posed by SAP customers and product units, delivering smart services across SAP’s portfolio.

Perform state‑of‑the‑art research to advance Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, focusing on topics such as Foundation Models for Structured Data, Scalable access to business data using LLMs, and Knowledge Graphs.

Publish research results and contribute to work that can be applied to SAP product development.

Collaborate with academic researchers and cross‑functional partners, communicating research plans, progress, and results.

Qualifications

PhD student in your second year or Post‑doctoral researcher specializing in Generative Foundations Models on structured data.

Strong foundation in machine learning, deep learning, NLP, LLMs, or Knowledge Graphs with experience building systems.

Strong publication record in recognized ML/NLP conferences or journals (ACL, EMNLP, ICLR, ICML, NeurIPS).

Proficient in PyTorch, Python, HuggingFace Transformers, statistical analysis, and shell scripting.

Fluent in English.
