Youth Education Manager, Alpha - $200,000/year USD
Crossover, Chicago, IL, United States
Location & Compensation
In-person: Piedmont, CA; Greenwich, CT; Chicago, IL; Bethesda, MD; or New York City, NY (relocation assistance available)
$200,000/year, paid weekly | Full health, dental, and vision coverage from day one
What You Will Be Doing
Facilitating one-hour live life skills and social-emotional learning (SEL) sessions with K-8 students covering topics such as public speaking and concentration, using Alpha's structured curriculum framework
Conducting daily motivation sessions designed to drive 100% student achievement of weekly app-based goals through age-appropriate incentive systems including school currency and leaderboards
Developing Guides through direct observation, precise feedback, and practical coaching so they execute workshops with equivalent energy and accuracy
Analyzing Coachbot analytics and student data to pinpoint individuals requiring support, then delivering personal intervention
Directly mentoring your assigned student cohort, demonstrating the coaching and motivational techniques you expect all Guides to employ
What You Won’t Be Doing
Creating lesson plans or developing curriculum. Students progress through adaptive apps; your focus is elevating the people who support them.
Delivering traditional lectures to a classroom. You're 80% motivator, 20% content expert; if you prefer standing at a whiteboard, this role isn't suited for you.
Accepting "close enough" from a student. 100% mastery remains the standard, and compromising it doesn't serve them.
Spending time in an office processing administrative documents. The majority of your day involves direct interaction with students and Guides.
Waiting extended periods for performance data. Results appear in real-time through Coachbot and adjustments occur immediately.
Youth Education Manager Key Responsibilities
Execute Alpha's 3 Promises throughout your cohort and among the Guides under your leadership: every child develops enthusiasm for school, learns at double the standard pace, and cultivates genuine life competencies.
Basic Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in education, learning and development, coaching, or related area
Demonstrated experience creating and executing educational programs, curricula, or training initiatives
Proven history of managing a team of 5 or more individuals, including responsibility for hiring and performance-based termination decisions
Experience providing coaching, mentorship, or constructive feedback to enhance engagement and outcomes
Professional experience working with children ages 5–14 in educational or developmental environments
Strong capability in leveraging data and metrics to inform decisions and drive ongoing improvement
Legal authorization to work in the United States
Nice-to-have Requirements
Master's degree in Education, Psychology, or Business
Experience as an athletic coach, camp director, or youth program coordinator where you directly motivated children to achieve quantifiable goals
