Patient Service Representative (Full-Time)
Frye Regional Medical Center, located in the foothills of North Carolina, is a 355-bed acute care hospital and 81-bed Behavioral Health facility serving over 70 primary and specialty care providers.
How You'll Contribute
The Patient Services Representative facilitates the patient referral process and obtains appropriate pre-certifications as requested by the provider(s). They are responsible for greeting patients, checking in and out, scheduling, managing telephones and messages, and collecting and posting co-pays, deductibles and past due patient balances at the time of service.
Key Responsibilities
Performs scheduling, registration, patient pre-admission and admission at the physician practice.
Performs reception and discharge functions.
Accurately obtains complete and accurate patient demographic information.
Performs proper, compliant patient liability collection techniques before, during and after date of service.
Qualifications and Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree is preferred.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
