Maintenance Foreman – LSU Health New Orleans Division of Facility Services
LSU Health New Orleans Division of Facility Services seeks a highly skilled and motivated Maintenance Foreman to lead maintenance operations and respond to campus emergencies after hours and during campus closures.
Responsibilities
Supervise and train HVAC/refrigeration mechanics, operating engineer masters, electricians, plumber/pipefitter and maintenance repairers.
Plan schedules and assign daily tasks to subordinates.
Prepare and submit work orders for repair work and complete close‑out documentation of preventive maintenance work orders.
Coordinate contractor work and follow up on contract work from beginning to end.
Supervise and assist with scheduled periodic preventive maintenance work.
Perform payroll time‑sheet processing, leave requests, discipline, counseling, performance reviews, motivation, and training for staff.
Operate and maintain equipment.
Handle special events work, campus maintenance emergencies, and work orders.
Plan, price, and order materials necessary for repairs using proper facility purchasing rules/regulations.
Qualifications
Four years of experience or training in building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance, with at least two years of on‑job experience; or
Completion of a two‑year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering plus two years of on‑job experience in the above areas; or
Twelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering (or combination of these courses) plus two years of on‑job experience.
Current driver’s license.
Knowledge of general maintenance trade techniques, methods and procedures.
Skilled in general maintenance trade functions.
Skilled in HVAC / refrigeration and maintenance and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
Ability to respond to campus emergencies after hours and during campus closures; may be assigned to emergency team.

Appointment type: Probationary appointment.
Location: LSU Health New Orleans, 1901 Perdido St., New Orleans, LA 70112.
Compensation: Starting rate $24.10 per hour, may be adjusted based on qualifications.
Hours of operation: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday.
Pre‑employment Drug testing, Physical and Criminal Background check required.
This position may be placed on the On‑Call rotation.
